COACH'S CORNER: Having a Winning Attitude! Some individuals like to attribute winning attitudes only to the players on teams with with winning records. It's important as a football player to understand that the two don't necessarily go hand-in-hand. My definition of a winning attitude is simple, Winning attitude=Right attitude! Having a winning attitude as a football player, means to have the right attitude! Without thinking about it too hard, we can easily identify the players on our team who have the right attitude. They're usually the most fun players to be around. Other players on the team will gravitate towards them. They may not be leaders (or they might!), but they're definitely well-liked, respected, and have a positive outlook on life. They also take full responsibility for their actions. If they miss a block, drop a pass, throw an incompletion, miss a tackle, fumble the ball, give up a touchdown.....then they take full responsibility for what has happened. They don't dwell on the errors; they acknowledge it and work to correct what went wrong, while keeping a positive attitude. Let's all do what it takes to develop a winning attitude! As always, let's enjoy the game!! — Coach Randall Laws |
